I have dropped 18 kiloes, and my bmi says 21,4. Im 153 cm and my weight is 50 kiloes. My blood results are okey. My selfesteem has raised, and Im feeling more comfortable with who I am. I’m a bit cold all the time, cause I dont have the fat to keep me warm, but that is ok. I still want to loose 5 kiloes. IT is so fun to go on the mountain and go to the pool. I need to start working out in a training center. The only thing I hate is that my butt is flat, and I need to do some squats to make it look more bumpy. The surgery might be the best thing I have ever done to myself
My experience with Bariatric Services are very good this is new live for me. I give Bariatric Services my best recommendation for everything. Iam using Fit for Me vitamins. I train crossfit 3 times a week and go to the swimming pool 2 – 3 times a week. I am planing to run 10 km in Reykjavik marathon next august.
Having the operation, I the best decision I have made. I had a Gastric Sleeve with Dr. Ilmar Kaur in May and had been considering having a stomach operation for many years. The reason I chose Estonia was that I could be accompanied by a translator who had had the operation in Estonia. I have lost 51.3 kg since I applied for the operation with Dr. Ilmar Kaur, at that time I weighed 150,8 kg and managed to go down to 145 kg on the pre-up diet, three weeks before operation day, 16. May 2018 and today, January 15 2019, I’m 99.5 kilos I feel much better today, I have started to swim in the sea, go out for walks and to the gym and I love it. I have always been overweight, I have managed to lose weight but have always gained it again. I am not going to do gain the weight again. I also feel much better mentally after the operation. I know that I am not finished with this project, this is something I will have to work with for the rest of my life. I recommend Dr. Ilmar Kaur and his people a 100%.
Well my experience with Bariatic Services is very good. I got a very good service from day one and I can give your company top score. Your city and your country is very beautiful too. All service during my hospital stay and until now has been great. It’s good to know you care about your patients 🙂 gives my a secure feeling
I feel very good and it is very good to feel better about yourself and self-image is stronger. Nice to go shopping for clothes and ask for size S or M instead of XL and trousers 30″/31″ instead of 36″/38″ . Well I don’t spend much time visiting restaurants 🙂 🙂 Was it right for me to take this big step i n my life. I say YES
So, now 6 month after surgery, I weight 13 stone (82.5kg). My BMI is 27.7. I have lost 5 stone 6 pounds (34kg). I feel healthier, I have more energy, I can run up 3 flights of stairs without getting out of breath! I suffer from less chest infections, coughs and colds since the surgery. I can buy nice clothes. I eat out regularly, but only eat salads and soups. I lost some hair after the surgery, my hair felt thinner, but after 6 months it has started to grow back. I take my supplements every day and I have had my blood checked, my vitamin and mineral levels are good.
When I decided to go for surgery I had read up on the subject, I went in knowing everything there was to know, or so I thought. The process is hard, you will struggle and it will be painful. But thanks to the excellent care I recived from bariatric services I got my bearings. I have struggled after surgery and the cravings have been there but having the support from Tallinn has been helpful. I got good advice on eating and a thorough instructions on what to expect after surgery. My life is really different from what it was before, I have taken up walking and am focusing on health, instead of weight. The weight will come off but the body I want afterwards is going to take some hard work. Life is not about food anymore, its about living in the moment and enjoying life in a totally different way than before.
After years of yo-yo and fad dieting, I decided I needed to do something serious about my weight. My health both physically and mentally was being affected by my obesity. I began to research bariatric surgery as an option and came across www.bariatricservices.eu I was hesitant at first about going abroad for surgery as you hear about a lot of horror stories! however, from my first contact with the surgery coordinator Merle I was instantly put at ease, her professionalism, efficiency and understanding of my needs and fears was second to none, she explained everything about the mini gastric bypass and completely reassured me.
Read full storyThe hospital was 5 star and the staff treated me with dignity and excellent care. DR Ilmar Kaur is nothing short of an angel, I am forever thankful for him and his gifted hands for changing my life for the better, I have so much more energy and confidence now and hope to continue to have into the future< I would highly recommend Dr Kaur and his team for anyone considering weight loss surgery.
I had a great experience with Bariatric Services. The staff spoke good English, the facilities were of the highest degree and the atmosphere friendly. The medical staff was very professional and thorough. They did necessary tests and asked questions so I was well prepared, both physically and mentally. All information I received was correct and the beautiful Tallinn was a very good experience with my husband. I lost a lot of weight every week after the surgery and took care to follow the excellent advice from the doctors. I highly recommend Doctor Ilmar Kaur and Bariatric Services for anyone in the search for a better life.
Everything is going so Well. I have dropped 38,5 kg since the surgery. I Can Eat all foods, just In less amounts.
Well so far I have lost 5 stones in weight and I’m feeling great and get very happy. My confidence has come back and so has my life! My experience with Bariatric services was great, all the staff were great and so efficient even down to the transport to and from the airport. I would recommend you all to anyone. Many Thanks!
Last November I had gastric distillization surgery in Tallinn arranged by Merle from Bariatric Services and performed by Dr Kaur and I wrote a review saying how excellently everything had been done by both Merle and Dr Kaur. He said that at the time that should the amount of intestine bypassed not be sufficient and I did not have the expected weight loss then he would carry out further surgery free of charge. He was conservative in his surgery as my intestine was shorter than average and he did not want to bypass too much initially.
Read full storyAt first I lost a small amount of weight but this did not continue nor was I able to maintain the loss so in August I contacted Merle again to ask for their help. As they had promised last year, further surgery was arranged at no cost to myself save for the travel and initial hotel stay. The arrangements were made swiftly and smoothly with Merle’s usual attention to detail and the date for surgery was set for 12th September. Merle picked me up from the hotel on that morning and took me to the hospital – a different, private one this time – and after the usual precautionary tests the surgery was done at lunchtime. Unfortunately I suffered a pulmonary embolism afterwards and had to be kept in intensive care for a couple of nights. The care I received was excellent from everyone – Dr Kaur, the nursing staff and other health professionals. When I was well enough to leave the hospital Merle took me back to the hotel for my last night in Tallinn – at no charge to me – and I returned home without further incident. I had been provided with all the necessary medications including blood thinning injections and tablets, vitamins and supplements and all the information that my doctor here in the UK needed to take over my care.
Since my return I have fully recovered very well and Merle has been in touch with me with questions from Dr Kaur. The dietician who advised me before I left the hospital has also emailed me with details of the supplements I need and where to obtain them.
I cannot praise everyone concerned highly enough. Just as last year, from beginning to end everything was done smoothly, efficiently and very professionally. In addition everyone was just so nice and kind. I am confident that this time the procedure will be successful – the fact that it did not work as well as it should have done before was entirely down to the peculiarities of my intestine and not any fault of the surgery. I would not hesitate to recommend both Bariatric Services and this procedure of distillization to anyone who is thinking about having it done. I would be happy to answer any questions that anyone might have if they would like to contact me.
Thank you Merle and thank you Dr Kaur”
“I have lost now 31 kg since operation (107 kg). The operation was and is life changing and I guess life saving. If I look how I was living and feeling compared how I feel and live now. In your Clinic we were treated so nicely and very profesionally. I came in after a big decission to do the operation and a bit scared, but you, the staff and the doctor made me feel at ease. All in all I can and will recommend your clinic and also the operation to people who need it.”
I have lost 18kg so far, and I feel just great 🤸🏼♂️!
My blodtests look fine: Fe, vitamin B, Na/Ca
Im so happy with the overall process, everything went smooth.
I will recommend You to others
I am very happy that I found Bariatric Services online and decided to get my Mini Gastric Bypass surgery in Tallinn. I arrived late in the evening and spent the first night at a nice hotel where I was picked up in the morning by Merle. I was very impressed by the modern hospital and the lovely private room where I spent the next 4 days.
Soon after my arrival Dr. Kaur visited and we discussed everything I needed to know. And suddenly it was time already and I had to get ready. After the surgery and some time in a wake up room I was brought back to my room and soon I was able to get up. Although I spent most of that day sleeping I felt so much better the next day and hardly had any pain. After that I was pain free and didn’t need any pain medication. I was even able to take long walks in the vicinity of the hospital.
I had no complications or any problems at all. Now, 6 month after my surgery, I feel very good, I lost 30kg and hope to lose much more over time. But I don’t stress over it because my quality of life is so much better than I ever expected it to be. My back and knee pain is gone and I am more mobile than I was in the last 10 years. Actually, I feel 10 years younger.
All my thanks go to Dr. Kaur, Merle and the entire team at the hospital who took such good care of me.
The best decision I’d made last year was to travel to Estonia for my gastric bypass surgery. The service I’d received from Merle was a clear indication of how my journey was going to be. She was courteous, responsive and empathetic. She arranged for me to speak to Dr. Kaur at my request. I had so many concerns and questions; Dr. Kaur patiently listened and was very forthcoming with his responses.
Read full storyOn arrival to Estonia, everything went as planned. At the hospital, the nurses were so kind and attentive. Dr. Kaur was amazing! He took the time to explain the procedure to me before the surgery and gave me the opportunity to ask as many questions as I wanted to. After the surgery, and every day I was at the hospital, he visited twice! He is truly an asset to the hospital and clearly enjoys what he does!
I have since lost over 20kg since my surgery and am in the best shape of my adult life!
My personal experience is very good, everything was very professional at the hospital. The dr and nurses, everybody were helpful and very nice. I feel so much better now, although I’m not at my goal weight yet. I would recommend Bariatric Services to anyone who is considering surgery.
Read full storyI have been doing very well, weight loss is 25 kilos so far. No complications whatsoever, I can tolerate almost any food and try to make healthy choices 🙂
I had blood test done in december and all was good, I will have another one in the end of may, and have everything checked out again.
The surgery has changed my life to the better, I dont regret it one minute, and can hardly remember the first hardest weeks, they went by so quick.
Hi! I have been obese from the age of six. Around my sixties I ended up to 125kg and my back, feet and ankles started to protest. I always ( until christmas 2017) thought that bariatric surgery is nothing for me. Started to study the new methods: could I possibly make such a radical change in my life and take all the risks of complications? Be the girl who never eats more than one slice of pizza, if any? The process before surgery was extremely simple compared to the process on public health care here in Finland. (And yes, I work at one of our University Hospitals with my overweight).
Read full storysuddenly, it was April, I took the trip to Tallinn. Everything went perfectly well and here I sit on my sofa writing this, one week after the Sleeve-procedure. I congratulate myself of this decision … so far following the postop. instructios has been easy. I do not recommend this to anyone, BUT if you have made by yourself the decision and understand the consequenses. Just go for it! I’m feeling great! (-13kg from christmas, -5kg from the operation).
For more than 15 years I struggled with my weight. Considering that I’m only 31 years old 15 years is a long time. I tried every way to loose weight but always ended up gaining more. After I had my daughter in 2013 the weight gaining got completely out of control. In the summer of 2017 I was at my heaviest both physically and mentally and in July I finally admitted that I not only wanted help, I needed it.
Read full storyAfter doing some research and talking to a friend with personal experience, Bariatric Services was the only place to go to in my opinion. Everything was so professional from the beginning. Their website was very informative and Kaire, the coordinator, answered all my questions personally and with respect.
September 5th 2017 is they day my new life began. That’s the day I had gastric bypass surgery performed by Dr. Ilmar Kaur. I was never nervous, not once. I was only excited and everyone took such a good care of me. Being a licensed practical nurse and now a nursing student I looked at everything at the hospital with different eye too and I can honestly say that everything was excellent both related to hygiene and professionalism. The staff was very helpful and kind and I felt very secure the whole time.
Dr. Ilmar was there when I came and showed me the hospital room, he then checked on me at least twice a day the whole time I was in the hospital. When discharged I got excellent patient education about life after surgery both from Dr. Ilmar and nurse Anni Laas and was ready to start my new life on my own – though I wanted to take everyone back to Iceland with me 🙂
Since I got back home I’ve been doing really well and have not experienced any complications. It’s now almost 8 months since the surgery and I have lost 35 kilos. I am only 5-7 kilos away from my ideal weight and that is something I thought I would never experience. I haven’t felt so good about myself in years and life is much more easier, both for me and the closest people around me.
I haven’t taken stomach medicine since I got back home but I took 40 mg of Esomeprazol daily before surgery because of bad acid reflux. I also do not need to take medicine for anxiety anymore. I was in high risk of getting diabetes type 2 but that’s not a problem now.
I can eat anything, really, but I now focus on meals as a nutrition so I choose my meals well. If I don’t do that it will result in less energy throughout the day and I don’t feel well physically. I also take vitamins daily, that’s really important and not as hard to remember as I thought it would be.
I now exercise because I want to and it’s a completely different feeling going to the gym and actually like it. I can also do things there that I could never do before. I can now sit on the floor playing with my daughter and run with her up and down stairs without having a hard time to breath.
I can not thank Dr. Ilmar Kaur and all of the Bariatric Services team enough. They will always have a special place in my heart and I will be forever grateful to them.
I have lost 21 kg and my weight is 72 kg. I am very happy with the results of the surgery and I feel great. I can eat everything without a problem. My experience with Bariatric Services is fenomenal both with the health care and counseling. You took care of me in all the steps of my journey. I would reccommend it to anyone to do their surgery with you.
In theory, I consider myself a super pro on weight loss, on losing and gaining weight J It’s because I struggled with my being overweight for 15 years.
Read full storyI gained and lost weight dozens of times: losing 10 kg, gaining 15 kg. I knew very well how to lose weight by using diet and sport. And I knew how to hold it. But my problem was laziness. As soon as I lost weight, I failed to hold it: to celebrate the loss, I ate a lot and gained weight back.
It was 7 years ago, when I heard first about the stomach reduction surgery in a TV program, where there were very fat people. For them, this surgery was vital.
I made a final decision to go for the stomach reduction to lose weight in this way in 2013, after I met and talked to a friend who had undergone this surgery at Dr. Kaur’s clinic.
After meeting her, I signed up for a consultation with Dr. Kaur. I was 26 then and I weighed somewhere around 125 kg, although I’m pretty tall, 180 cm.
The surgery was appointed on 13 January 2015. During the New Year night, I certainly ate well, but after that I told myself to stop. Enough. And since 1 January, my new life has begun.
What in this entire saga helped me a lot in making a decision was the communication with people, who had already undergone this surgery. I also read all the forums and all the information on this issue on the Internet.
A month after the surgery, I lost about 10 kg.
As a result, a year and a half after the surgery, I have 47 kg off and I feel wonderful!
Today I’m not a full-figured girl looking at slim guys and dreaming. Now I’m a beautiful and slender girl, doing sports!
Now, when I am eating, my eyes play a major role. I know visually how much food I can accommodate. So I eat accordingly. If I eat a little more, I feel bad: food gets stuck in my throat. But this happens rarely – I get used to it. I eat whatever I want, but bit by bit.
If earlier, under stress, I immediately sat down and ate, now it’s the other way around. I do not want to eat.
Frankly speaking, my fondness for sweets persists. But today 2 to 3 candies are enough – I just don’t want more.
I’m very happy that I decided to take this step and underwent this surgery! I can wholeheartedly advise it to everyone, who has extra weight and who tried all the other ways.
