My history began 5 years ago when I was 30 years old. Early in life I was an active man and went in for sports a lot. There was nothing to pay much attention to except athletic injuries. My height is 199 cm and weight early in life was just about 105 kg what was ideal in view of the height.

Since my 30 years, problems with health began to arise little by little. The first symptom was an increase of blood pressure and weariness. During the following couple of years, the weight gradually began to increase and health got worse. When the weight came to more than 125 kg, I decided to do something in order that the weight would decrease. I went to a doctor of diabetes. After a realized analysis, it had been found that blood sugar was out of norm and an urgent treatment was needed. It was 3.5 years ago and I was prescribed the peroral drug therapy. However it did not achieve expectable results, the health got worse still more, the weight increased and there was severe fatigue. The blood sugar was not stable, it varied all the time within the limits from 8 to 15. During those three years, I additionally tested various diets, significantly changed my customs to take meals but everything was useless.
A year ago the matter went so far that I was diagnosed diabetes of the second degree and prescribed insulinization. At that time I thought that there was no more salvation and everything went to death. I had to administer injections of insulin with various actions 5 times a day. Volumes were astronomical. During that year the weight reached more than 145 kg. Variation of the blood sugar forced to eat and the health did not allow it to continue in that way.
I gave up everything as lost and lived with the attitude “I live until I live” as some doctors told me.
I met with my good acquaintance and friend who told me about the operation which yielded very good results in case of such a disease and such symptoms. I got to know that bariatric operations were made in Tallinn and decided to go to a consultation. Having listened to a doctor, I quickly made a decision. I thought that I was given a new chance; there was a sensation of beginning of the new life hope for which should be seized.
My operation was carried out by Dr Ilmar Kaur in Tallinn in the beginning of 2017. From the moment when I emerged and got to know that everything was OK, I had not to be disappointed with anything. When I had the operation, I weighed 143 kg and administered the injections five times a day as before. From the first day after the operation, I had not to administer the injections any more and take other medicines (reducing blood pressure) except vitamins. The blood sugar was within the limits from 4.2 to 6.3 what is very good showing and at present the weight has been reduced up to 120 kg. I feel well and it seems as if I were born again. Helpings of my meal decreased noticeably but quality, undoubtedly, became better. I can eat so frequently as I want and the blood sugar does not force me to eat any more as it was in the past.
I visited my doctor of diabetes. After receipt of answers to new analyses, he said me that I was healthy and had a wonderful improvement! It seems to be a wonder but it is my reality. Everything seems to be excellent to a person who reads this letter but it is a matter of fact. For the present moment, I am very happy and satisfied with this result.
Once again, I would like to thank the medical man, Dr Ilmar Kaur, who was my surgeon and advised me this operation. I thank everybody who encouraged me and helped me. You should believe, wonders are not disappeared and chances are always available.

Inntrykket jeg satt igjen med etter et møte med fedmeklinikken var mer eller mindre som en ku i en slakteri, men allikevel bestemte jeg meg for å ta operasjonen der basert på den informasjonen jeg hadde der og da. Når jeg ga opplysningene til min fastlege om dette var det han selv som anbefalte meg å ta operasjonen i utlandet.

Når jeg gikk tom for flere spørsmål fattet jeg beslutningen min med å ta gastric sleeve hos Bariatric Services i Tallinn.
Merle hentet meg på flyplassen og kjørte meg til hotellet. Dagen etter kjørte hun meg til sykehuset hvor jeg fikk mitt egen rom inkludert bad, wifi, tv, osv. Sykepleieren tok blodprøver og jeg fikk treffet Dr. Ilmar Kaur som var min kirurg som gjennomgikk alle detaljene for inngrepet både de gode og de dårlige. Noe som gjorde meg trygg var at jeg bestemte meg for å ta operasjonen i et sykehus (Nord Estland Medisinske Senteret) og ikke i en klinikk, dette i tilfelle noe skulle skje og jeg måtte fraktes til et sykehus.
Sykepleierne tok så godt være på meg. Hver gang jeg trengte hjelp var de der med engang og jeg hadde aldri noe problemer med språket. Selvfølgelig har de aksent, men det har jeg også! vi forstå hverandre uten problem og det var aldri noe misforståelse på grunn av dette. Jeg ville understreke at Dr. Kaur besøkte meg hver eneste dag opptil to ganger om dagen for å se hvordan jeg hadde det. Jeg fikk også møte bariatric sykepleier (som er spesialist i slankeoperasjon) Kristen Janvest, hver dag mens jeg var der og hensikt var å få gode råd på hvordan jeg skulle forandre spisevanene mine, hun ga meg en mat plan som jeg skulle følge de dagene og ukene etter operasjon samt resten av livet mitt.
Til tross for at det har bare vært veldig få uker etter operasjonen min ville jeg gjerne gi min sterkeste anbefaling for Bariatric Services. Merle fortsetter å være en god kontaktperson samt sjekker og reporterer til legene på hvordan jeg har det og svarer på alle spørsmålene mine. Jeg ville også peke at mine medisiner har blitt redusert og blir sikkert fjern om noe uker maks en måned.
Jeg er takknemlig for hele erfaringen som jeg har opplevd samt vært én av de beste beslutninger som jeg har tatt i mitt liv.
Da jeg fant ut at jeg skulle ta Gastric bypass da var jeg usikker for det var så mange å velge i mellom på nettet og forskjellige priser. Men til syvende å sist så valgte jeg Tallinn etter jeg hadde sendt flere mailer og fikk positiv tilbake meldinger,bestemte jeg meg for å dra.

Da jeg kom til Tallinn da blei jeg møtt av ei veldig hyggelig dame som het Merler og hun kjørte meg til et kjempe fint hotell rett ved flyplassen som jeg skulle overnatte til dagen etter.
Tirsdag morgen da blei jeg henta og kjørt til sykehuset,der fikk jeg ett eget rom meg eget bad og flatskjerm,veldig bra standard. Etter en stund fikk jeg hilse på kirurgen Ilmar som fortalte meg om hva som skulle skje.
klokka tre blei jeg kjørt ned for å opereres og alle var veldig hyggelige. Da jeg våknet opp da blei jeg kjørt opp på rommet mitt igjen og fikk beskjed om hvis jeg hadde no vondt så måtte jeg bare si fra så skulle jeg få smertestillende. sov til dagen etter og da var jeg i utrolig fin form jeg var øm men ingen uholbare smerter. Kirurgen var innom 2 ganger daglig og prata med meg. Jeg var der i 4 dager og betalte 50000 kr og det var verdt hver eneste krone. Hvis noen leser dette å vurderer å ta Gastric bypass så anbefaler jeg å kontakte Bariatric Services i Tallinn. Bra sykehus og veldig flinke leger. Etter mye frem og tilbake, og mange tanker, samtaler med leger, forskjellige sykehuser bestemte jeg meg for en gastric bypass operasjon. men da jeg har for liten BMI og ingen følge sykdomer, måtte jeg betale det selv. Så gikk det litt mere tid til å google sykehus i utlande som tilbyr denne operasjon. Og hvilke prisklasser de hadde. Etter mange mail frem og tilbake til forskjellige sykehus,falt valget mitt på Bariatric Services. Og jeg har ikke angret.

Jeg taber mig stadig men skal kæmpe lidt for det , men det gør ikke noget da det hele langt opvejer den smule arbejde.
Jeg fik taget blodprøver efter 3 måneder og det var fine tal over alt. Efter 7 måneder var jeg i lidt underskud af kalk, så jeg blev sat op i dosis. Og jeg skal nu den 24/4 til nye blodprøver, så de kan se om alt er ok igen. Jeg har fået opereret mine øjenlåg , og det var rigtig godt.
Jeg føler at rigtig mange ting er blevet lettere for mig nu. Jeg vil rigtig gerne tabe 15 kilo mere så jeg hænger bare i . Det er pludseligt sjovt at handle tøj , så jeg klæder mig meget anderledes end før . Selv min skostørrelse er gået ned.
Jeg har ikke haft problemer af nogen slags. Tak for det. Jeg har ikke haft mavekramper ingen opkastninger og aldrig prøvet det som andre GB operere kalder dumping.
Jeg er bare så glad og tilfreds. Jeg var måske lidt nervøs for at det ikke ville gå så nemt da jeg jo ikke er helt ung mere , men 63 år har ikke været nogen hindring for mig .
Jeg vil til en hver tid anbefale andre at tage ned til jer . Jeg følte mig velkommen , i var alle hjælpsomme og det hele gik fuld ud efter planen . Nok en gang , tak for at i findes jeg vil altid sende jer gode tanker . Håber i eventuelt kan bruge dette , hvis ikke så skriv og jeg vil lave noget nyt til jer .

Jeg kan kun sige noget Godt om stedet her, Fra den tid vi ankom til Tallinn og til Afrejse har der været styr. På det hele tiden, Gode ene stuer , Venligt personale , Jeg har fået lavet en Gastric Sleeve Operation.( 15/7-2014 ) og til dags dato er vægttabet 22 kg og taber ca 1 kg hver 14 dag.

Jeg forstå godt hvis man er lidt skeptisk mod at tage så langt væk, men det skal man ikke være. Her har de styr på det. Jag heter Liselotte Forsberg och beslutade mig för att göra en Gastric sleeve. Som de flesta andra med viktproblem har jag provat de mesta med olika dieter och Viktväktarna tidigare i mitt liv. Valde mellan Gastric sleeve och Gastric by pass och kom fram till att en sleeve passar mig bäst. Började med att kontakta Bariatric Service på deras hemsida efter att sökt runt på nätet.
Läs hela historienFick en snabb kontakt och via mail fick jag svar på alla mina frågor. Kändes väldigt bra. Fick en operationstid och jag och en av mina söner flög till Tallinn. Vi blev hämtade på flygplatsen och skjutsades till hotellet vi skulle bo på första natten. (Ingår i priset)
På operationsdagen blev vi hämtade vid hotellet och åkte till sjukhuset. Min son var med och sov med mig dom 3 nätterna på sjukhuset. Vi hade ett privat rum som var fint. Mot en mindre kostnad fick sonen bo med mig och då ingick alla måltider till han. Det var riktigt bra. Min operation gick bra. Läkare var mycket trevlig och gjorde ett professionellt jobb och övrig personal var duktiga o trevliga. Dom flesta kunde prata bra engelska. Efter 3 nätter på sjukhuset fick vi åka hem. Vi blev skjutsade till flygplatsen och sen var de bara hemresan och hem till mitt nya liv med min minimage. Enda gången min mage säger ifrån är när jag äter och dricker för fort. Så det är mitt eget fel men det får ta sin tid och lära sig vad som funkar. Annars har jag inte haft en enda komplikation. Går sakta ner i vikt hela tiden. Jag rekommenderar er som funderar på operation att åka till Tallinn. All inklusive priset är jättebra o smidigt att allt ingår. Samordnaren som skötte mailkontakt och transporter till o från flygplatsen o sjukhuset/hotellet var mycket trevlig, rar o bra på alla sätt.
I’m lost almost 20 kg’s during this 6 month period, feel much better, energetic since I started to be loosing weight step by step start doing sports and activities.
By now I’m running 5,5-6kms 3-4x per week(I never run before and I’m absolutly obsessed by, almost inconvenience if I miss?? one of my running sessions and totaly reshaped…everybody who’s see me since my operation asking what happend with me I’m looking amazing…And I tell them I feel amazing? myself!

I dropped dress size from UK size 18 to UK size 12-14 so happy….so need to change my whole wardrobe…but don’t mind it is a really one of the best happy changeing.
This is a totaly different lifestyle, needed to change my eating habits, portions and have to change my lifestyle for it but I’m flexible so it does not bother me, I see almost the amazing consequenses, encourage me and just have to listen to my body and tell me what I need and how often and importantly how slowly…this was the biggest change to learn how slowly need to eat and what and how small portion for my comfort feeling. But by now I’m pretty confident with these as well.
So summery I’m so happy and this was my one of the best decision in my life to apply for this operation on your clinic, I can not be greatful enough for your very professional teamwork for this treatment and your kindness.

Initially I was very nervous as I read some horror stories on the internet regarding hospitals offering bariatric surgery that ended up with the patient having terrible complications, but I had a good feeling when I looked at Bariatric Service’s website.
Läs hela historienI contacted them and Merle responded. The whole process was very easy from start to finish. Everything was explained to me as to what I needed to do pre-surgery and about the procedure and what to expect.
We scheduled a date for the surgery. I arrived in Tallin on a Monday and Merle collected me from the airport. She was friendly and welcoming. She drove me to a hotel and made sure I got booked in and told me she would be back the next morning to collect me.
The next morning Merle collected me and I arrived at the hospital. Some tests were performed in the morning and I met with Dr. Ilmar Kaur and my surgery took place late afternoon.
The care I received was beyond my expectations. I had my own private room. The hospital was very clean and modern. I was well taken care of and the staff very helpful and friendly.
The first 12 weeks after surgery was probably the hardest, but if you follow the Dr.’s orders you should have no complications.
I reached my personal weight goal at 9 months post-op, but have continued to lose weight. I managed to walk 15km which I never thought possible without any pain to my feet, back and legs.
I gained so much self-esteem that I applied for a job and got it which I also never thought possible as I have not worked for 6 years. I really believe losing the weight assisted in me getting the job. Not only has it improved my self-esteem, but it also has improved my health significantly.
Dr. Kaur and his team has really changed my life and it truly has been a New Begging for me. I could not thank them enough and would highly recommend them.
As an Australian, surgery is very expensive and I was planning on moving to the UK, where surgery is also very expensive, so while I had been wrestling with the idea of surgery for years, it wasn’t financially viable for me in either of these places. Läs hela historienThe Bariatric Services in Tallinn were one of a couple of international clinics I was looking at, but I was very impressed with Merle (the program coordinator) and her fast feedback and assistance with my questions. I had a lot of questions about things like after care, specific problems I may have in surgery, and once they were all answered I booked in to have my surgery 2 weeks later! I spent 5 days in Tallinn, the first day I was able to walk around the city which was fantastic, and then the rest of the week was hospital time! Merle was there to meet me at the airport and took me to my hotel, as well as helping me to find out where to see! The next day she picked me up and took me to the hospital where I was given my own room! I met the team of doctors before surgery and asked lots of questions, ran some tests, and then it was time for the surgery. The entire process was amazing – I was very very nervous, not only because I was away from home but also because I hadn’t had a major surgery since I was about 4 years old. The entire team were incredibly helpful in making sure I felt comfortable and well informed at every stage! Not only was I taken care of in hospital, but I was given a fantastically detailed plan to take home and follow for the next stage of my life. I’m happy to say I had no complications and honestly feel like a new person! For people who may be interested in travelling overseas for bariatric surgery, I would highly recommend coming to Tallinn and doing it through Bariatric Services. Not only is it cost effective, the hospital is fantastic, and the team will always be on hand for you if you need assistance.

Now, 19 months ago I went to my Sleeve and it was the best decision of my life. I decided to go to Bariatric Services after examining several advantages. I liked very well Dr Ilmar and the hospital on the website. I sent an email to Merle and got answers very quickly and could ask for anything I wanted.
Läs hela historienMy husband and I flew to Tallinn from Iceland but I would not go alone and felt safer to have my husband with. We arrived 2 days before surgery, the lovely Merle booked hotel for us in the old town so we could view the town. Very beautiful place.
Merle picked us up on a Monday morning, we went to the hospital and shown the place, my husband was with me at the hospital, were just two in a room. The surgery was later in the day, it was all explained very well for me and all the staff was great. Almost all spoked English, I must say that all the people, nurses, doctor, dietician, just everyone who approached me were wonderful. I was in the hospital until Thursday and flew to Iceland on Friday.
It has all been successful. I’ve been under the supervision of my GP in Iceland, I received instructions from Dr Ilmar for my doctor for monitoring the operation. I also received a few emails after the operation from Ilmar to check my condition and I had full access to them by phone or email if I needed to keep.
I have lost 64 kg and now I feel so good. I’m in the gym to strengthen me and increase my stamina.
Now next on is saving money for surgery to remove skin from stomach, upper arms and thighs, the loose skin is the only drawback I see the operation ?
I recommend this place and I will come back there when I fix the skin. Awesome staff, it’s all there 100%
From the first day I contacted Bariatric Services in Estonia right up until I was dropped back at the airport after the surgery I was given the highest standard of treatment and care a patient could receive. I would 100% recommend their services to anyone considering treatment and believe it to far excel the private treatment I would have received here in the UK at nearly half the price.

I go for small walks AS I still have my other health problems. But I feel much more confident again, which is very important to me as well ! I’ll never be able to express my gratitude enough. I started to look into bariatric surgery for a while ago until I finally got the courage and went to my local bariatric clinic to the info meetings and even made an the pre-appointment meeting with the surgeons, anesthesiologists, nutritionists, etc that would have been in charged of my surgery. I felt more like a cow in a slaughterhouse than in a clinic and took the decision to do it, so I spoke to my GP and asked me of how much was I going to pay for and he recommended me to look abroad, and I did. After an extensive look all over Europe I decided to go with Bariatric Services in Tallinn Estonia.

When all my questions were answered I made the decision to go with Bariatric Services.
Merle met me at the airport, took me to my hotel and picked me up at the hotel the day after and we went to the hospital where I had my own private room and toilet, wifi, tv, etc; there, I had my tests done by fully capable nurses and met Dr. Ilmar Kaur, my surgeon. We went through the details of the surgery (including the bad and ugly), and I’ve got sleeved that evening. Some part of my decision was that my surgery had to be done at a hospital (North Estonia Medical Centre) in a big city and not a clinic 2 hours away from a city just in case there is an emergency.
The nurses took care of me amazingly. Every time I needed help they were there, and even if their English language is not perfect (like mine) there were never any misunderstandings nor lack of communication, and Dr. Kaur visited me every single day of my stay of four days in Tallinn twice per day to check on me. Also RN Kristel Janvest followed me up with my diet plan and life style change every day as well.
I’m three weeks out of my operation and even though it’s really recent I couldn’t wait to write a review for Bariatric Surgery. Merle is still checking on me and reporting my amazing recovery back to Dr. Kaur and RN Janvest…. And… I’m down on my meds!
I’m really grateful of this whole experience, and so far… one of the best decisions that I’ve taken in my life!

Personnel and organisation including all your help from and to airport is very professionally done and on high level.
you can put my recommendation and opinion about your service which was excellent on your web site, I am ok with that. I would not change anything in your service, everything is well organised, I liked light and tidy hospital with nice and kind personnel around.

And what price ranges they had. After many mail back and forth to different hospitals, the choice fell on my Bariatric Services and I have not regretted
Everything was agreed by mail, and I must admit I had a lot of butterflies in my stomach when I boarded the plane and had thoughts that there are some who meet me at the airport, is this safe, I have taken a wrong choice now, etc .. ..
But when I walked by pla and Tallinn came velkomshallen stood Merle and waited as agreed. Then sank pulse many notches and I felt a bit saves.
After 15 minutes in the car, we came to the hospital. I was very excited about it was clean, and how it looked and how the staff there.
I got a private room in 9 floor, which was clean and quite common as a hospital room in Norway. With television, vindue, bed, nightstand, small bathroom with shower.
After 10 minutes the doctor came in and we talked. He told what would happen that day, and how we went forward. Which samples to be taken, when at the surgery should be done.
The doctor was easy to talk to, and you feel the doctor saw you as a person, not just as something they earned money on.
The nurses were nice and helpful, but some of those were probably a bit unsure when they do not speak good English. But there were no problems, there was someone on each shift as they can get, which can translate.
Operation went as planned and I got talked kostveilder and doctor the day after surgery. And I had it fine afterwards.
I would gladly recommend Bariatric Services without problems, I have felt safe during the entire course. It costs less than many other places. You are safe during the entire course and you get help and advice during the entire course.
Where do you start from when you are trying to explain how did obesity completely destroyed your life? Shortness of breath, depression, low self esteem, antisocial life and the high risk of diabetes type2 and coronary heart disease; are all symptoms every individual obeys person experienced and can blindly understand.

I went through most of these symptoms and I can tell that depression was the worse feeling on this universe. The feeling of neglection, useless and losing your purpose in life is what made me another person. This slowly killed all the joy and happiness in my life and made me look negatively at all the optimistic opportunities.
Until came a moment in my depressing life that opened my eyes forever! I call it the realising moment. In this moment I realised I need help urgently! I can’t watch myself losing all my virtues because of a condition I am able to change. I started an intense research on bariatric surgeries and their procedures and found the bariatric services hospital.
Honestly, it was a huge challenge for me to leave the UK and go for a surgery abroad mainly when it’s my first time visiting Tallinn! But I took the risk for the sake of changing my life. About my experience, I cannot describe in words how awesome are the bariatric services team; starting from dr.Ilmar Kaur the gentleman with an amazing smile and outstanding bariatric qualification he made me so comfortable through explaining me the full procedure and the outcomes in the future. His team of nurses were fantastic, caring and so responsible including Ramazan and the full nursing team. The programme coordinator Merle Saareväli is a wonderful lady who helped me throughout the whole process she was visiting me everyday and providing me with all the help I required. If you are reading this review with a bit of hesitance then you are just wasting time, this team is worth all the effort you would make. I am now 3 weeks after surgery and I feel an enormous difference.

I have lost 32 kg. It has been easy and with out problems so far. Quite a live changing solution. My docktor checked my blood values a month ago, and the values were normal to very good. I have only minor troubles. I can eat everything, just not so much of it. I dont suffer from astma, pain in knees, breathlesnes, snoring, headaches and feet troubles anymore. My kolestrol and blood pressure is normal and i dont have abnormal heartbeetings anymore either.

I have taken up running, and still bike 18 km daily. This have been a very positive experince, i only should have done it earlier in my life.
I have recomended the hospitals services in the GB network, that i am a part of. And i have nothing unfaverouble to say about the services you and the hospital and doctors provide.
